Christina Brischetto- Founder & executive director

I created Family CIRCLES to expand the scope of the fiscally sponsored project, Kids Read Books. I’m a former librarian who worked in schools and libraries for 12 years. I started Kids Read Books to offer free books and storytimes for children when I discovered there was an unmet need for it in our area. When Morton Co-op Preschool was looking to shift its focus due to the availability of free preschool, we developed Family CIRCLES as a way to expand their mission, offering programs for all ages.

Christina has a Masters degree in Library and Information Science. Through the Texas Education Agency she achieved a PK-12 School Librarian Certification and a PK-6th grade Educator Certification. She moved to east Lewis County in 2019. She frequently volunteers with the OnStage Youth Theater Program in Morton.

Amanda West- President

I joined the Family CIRCLES board because… I want to help build the kind of supportive village that we all need to raise our families. I grew up with a library to go to and programs to pique my interests in history, science, and all kinds of learning opportunities. I love living in Morton, but there aren’t as many organizations and places for kids and their families to go as there are in bigger cities. I want to help create the spaces and programs that my son and all of the other kids in this great community can use and enjoy.

Amanda is a National Board Certified Teacher who teaches social sciences at Morton JH/HS.

TONI NELSON – SECRETARY

Toni is an experienced early learning expert who has taught at Montessori preschools, HeadStart, and a variety of other educational settings. She is currently a teacher at Centralia College’s ECEAP program in Centralia.

Aubrey kendall – treasurer

Aubrey teaches 6th and 7th grade at White Pass Elementary School.
